Food - Strangers' Reunion

Along the same road as Highlander Cafe is this newly opened cafe - Strangers' Reunion. Seriously if we didn't look closely enough, we would have missed it totally.

I love the "signboard".

The interior of the cafe.

Ordered their new Long Jing Green Tea. Goes well with Red Velvet Cupcake.

I ordered ICE chocolate because the weather is way too hot!

Cappuccino

Chicken Pie with Rocket Salad

Ended our afternoon snack with waffle and ice cream!

Location: 37 Kampong Bahru Road

Adore - The Bollywood Veggies

It was a sunny weekday afternoon and I decided to go to The Bollywood Veggies! Been wanting to check out Poison Ivy Bistro which is located in this farm. [forget to mention its somewhere in Kranji]

The journey there was alil ulu but was absolutely beautiful. =)

Reached and settled for our lunch first. Something unique we ordered - Moringa Tempura. It was surprisingly yummie! ;)

The nutrition facts!

After a simple lunch, we went to the Veggie Farm for a walk! Can't believe they own a farm and stay there! So not Singapore! =))

Yellow Jumbu! Yummie!

They even have cooking classes!

I love to spend a day out like this, no rush. Saw some people fishing, sport fishing of course. Little children visiting this place with the school. 悠哉闲哉。

Oh, and I met an amazing worker there - Oh Siew May. She wrote a book - Scaling Walls. It is about her climbing Mount Kinabalu despite the fact that she suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Meeting Siew May ended my day at Bollywood Veggie even more meaningful. =)

Travel - What I Remembered about Malacca

My first Self drive trip was to Malacca in 2010. All I had was 2 days 1 night and a group of friends. I don't want to touch on Jonker Street and those typical tourist spots.

I just want to share what we came across and what I remembered!

A simple dim sum breakfast near the hotel we stayed.

I can feel the Char Siew Bao screaming " EAT ME!!" lol.

Lo Mai Kai

Chee Cheong Fun!

Besides the food, what I remembered was we got lost (as usual). Drove to a barren looking land, saw some people flying kite on the piece of land. 于是我们将错就错. We had a kite in our car boot and we decided to fly kite too! *Ultimate randomness*

But isn't this how life can be sometimes? We may get lost, but we learn this - 兵来将档,水来土淹. Come what may!

也就是因为迷失,我才有这个意想不到的收获。

Project Hello Stranger!

Have you heard of the Project Hello Stranger?!

I feel that it is such an amazing movement by a group of youth! =)

(photo taken from: kindness.sg)

A simple Hi-5 to the people in Raffles Place during morning rush, encourage the motor vehicles to honk if they think they are having a great day!

They believed that Singaporeans have their softer and friendly side but because of the fast environment we lived, we often don't show it. Their simple idea is just to bring out that friendly nature we have!

Arh! So exicting! I wondered what will the finale for June be! Have already liked them in Facebook!

Yummie! I forget the names of the cakes liao! [Been there quite sometime back] If you want to try these cakes, then find the REAL thing that looks like the photos lor!! duh~~ [so not helpful, I know! hahaha]

See! I told you its quieter right! =))

Purposeful Traveller - Now I am hungry, pfft~

Travel - Don't miss out what the journey can offer!

My mum bravely asked me to accompany her for this HSBC Tree Top Walk and I agreed! Thinking that it would be relatively easy, she brought nothing except water bottle and 2 pieces of bread which is not for our consumption but the fishes'. =.= How cute can my mum gets?

When we arrived at MacRitchie Reservoir Park by bus, my eyes were set at the destination. Trust me, I walked pretty fast for this 4.4km and I perspired a lot!! I was thinking if my mum can take it or not!

I was walking in front, while my mum was at the back busy taking photos with her friends. She saw something interesting but I didn't because all I was thinking about was the destination - the Canopy Walk.

For a moment, I pondered, through this my mum teaches me something - while our hearts were set at the destination, we shouldn't miss out what the JOURNEY can offer! =)

After a few hours of trekking, we arrived at the canopy walk. All the perspiration was worthwhile when you get to see how beautiful the place was!

A photo of the back of my cute mum!

The view from the bridge

The walk back was also pretty tiring but we spent a good time exercising and bonding!

Travel - The Beauty of Kluang

If you only have 2 days 1 night to spare and loves the nature (like I do), perhaps Kluang could be good place to explore. Travelling takes less than 2 hours by train or driving (if I remember correctly). Don't miss the stop! I decided to take train because during that time, train service is going to cease servicing from Tanjong Pagar Train Station. Took a bus to come back and the journey was super fast.

Arriving at the humble looking train station, a must have would be the loti and kopi at the train station! If you are a traditional kopi lover, I think you would love it! But I am not, so I drank milo. haha.

Started to walk around, trying to find the "Ailang Hotel" and we got lost in a small town. Walk and walk and walk, then we happened to pass by this shop and was attracted to the Char Siew Noodles! If you want to know where is this stall - then you have to get lost in order to find it! >.<

Hotel Found. To get to Gunang Lambak, don't waste time, just get the hotel to call a cab and getting there would cost about RM20. At first we stupidly took a bus that never goes there but it's okay, every experience is a lesson! =)

We were sooo lucky to meet a friendly local uncle that brought us up! Without him I guess we won't even be back at the foot at sunset! The climb was tedious for the terrains were rough after the rain but nevertheless, it was conquered! The reward was the view of Kluang from the top.

The locals climb the mountain daily and they are so proud and protective of this mountain that they have.Talking to the uncle made me know the locals more. He seems to know almost everyone that climb up the mountain!

I felt so honored and happy to know this Uncle!

Sat along the road after the climb because we were so tired. At the same time we were thinking HOW on earth are we supposed to go back to town!!! Fortunate enough, we chit chatted with this roadside stall Auntie and she helped us to call her 霸王车!We managed to get back to town with a cheaper rate even! hahahaha! So if you happened to see her, you can ask her for help! haha! The locals are so nice lar! Or perhaps we were blessed enough to meet these kind souls all in a day!

Go for a foot reflexology after wash up and walked around. Settled at this open food center for dinner.

After the workout, I just whack the food! Be it OILY or NOT!

我喜欢居銮,因为她有着一个我也说不上来的平衡点,很微妙。

Adores - Every little things in Cat Socrates

Small shop but I spent a long time looking at every little things that are inside. In love with the concept and items sold. Yes, bought some things from this shop to make some gifts for my dear friends.

If you want to take sometime to make a gift for your loved ones, here could be a place where you find some interesting ideas, like how I did.

Location: A little corner at the 3rd floor of Bras Besar Complex. Updates: They have shifted to Level 2 of Bras Besar Complex!

When Cafes Exploration Started?

I did ask myself when did all these cafe exploration started? I think and I think and I think... Perhaps I really started to take note of them since I went to Crazyworld Cafe which is located at 24 Temple Street.

A quiet place where I could just enjoy the food and ambiance. Have a lychee beer if you like it. =)

Since then, my cafe exploration started. Noting down any interesting cafes that I came across in magazines, newspapers or even through friends. I hope I can slowly explore them and who knows? Have some inspiration for myself.

Purposeful Traveller - It all started from Crazy (world cafe)

Food - Cafes I been Twice

Chanced upon Tea Cosy that is located at the 4th floor of Plaza Singapura. Personally I liked the High Tea set which explains why I visited the place twice, the 2nd time with more friends! Good things are meant to be shared.

Chocolate Tart @ Drips Bakery Cafe

I went there twice for this tart, perhaps I am a chocolate fan that's why. Around this area there are many more cafes to explore.

Location of Drips: 82 Tiong Poh Road, #01-05
Closed on Tuesday

The Beginning Of Purposeful Traveller

After much deliberation, I decided to set up this blog. Nothing "hoo-haa", just a channel whereby I can share more about the food I eat, the places I travel and the things I love.

Just felt that today is the day for something to be done and here I am, doing what my heart leads me to do. May this be the beginning of something NEW and something fantastic to come! =)
