Adore - Thursday is for Jumping Clay!

Ever heard of jumping clay??

It was my first time hearing such thing and trying it out! I must say it is so fun! I never thought I would try out something so kiddish. The end-product is light and it jumps! The shape is more or less fixed once it "harden".

I really love it~ I thought it actually helped me to de-stress. hahaha.

The girl who taught us was awesome, she is very talented and creative! =)

Introducing - JUMPING CLAY!

What the girl did!

We all tried to do it! It's my first time trying, well... I know not fantastic but's my first time! hahahaha! So proud of myself~ =P

Tried doing a rainbow and vespa too

All of us did minions and we almost had an army of it! LOL!

Purposeful Traveller - Why queue for minions when you can make one?!!

Cafe - Tuesday is for Cakes!

Necessary Provisions, one of the newest cafe. It is located at Eng Kong Terrace (west side)

Today work ended earlier and I managed to head down there for afternoon tea. I like the glass doors which gave a very open concept, thankfully the air con is blasting if not I think it might be pretty hot as the cafe is painted in dark grey/black. Half of the cafe is the kitchen cum coffee roaster machine. The interior seating is at most.... 30?

Anyway, they don't sell cappuccino, they sell latte in 3 sizes. Double shot of espresso is too much for my coffee drinker friend, thank God I didn't order. lol.

Strawberry cake with crumble top.

"Caffeine is non-negotiable" (This explains the double shot I guess)

If Monday is for waffles then Tuesday is for cakes!

Purposeful Traveller - What about Wednesday??

Monday 22 July 2013

So what it's a Monday?

It's Monday but it doesn't have to be "blue".

Though the weather was so hot this afternoon, I was craving for a cup of cappuccino. I considered my options and decided to head down to Somerset 313, Oriole cafe. On my way there, I was thinking of having some cakes or waffles to go with the coffee, but I don't remember they sell waffles but I was wrong!

Thank God the air con was blasting, and behold, the lady next table was eating waffles with ice cream. It was like God hearing the desires of my heart and answering my prayers! hahahaha! I ordered the "afternoon special" which was the waffles and coffee, only downside was I can't change the coffee to cappucino, hence I have to make do with the black coffee.

2 scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with bananas, strawberries, biscuits crumbs and almonds! I really think it's worth the money spent! Its $12++!

I sat in the cafe for an hour plus, I enjoyed the quietness in the cafe though it was located in town. I even did some work there! =)

热闹的城市,但我在那里找到一丝的宁静。

Then I ended my Monday with a movie by Jay Chou!

Purposeful Traveller - Enjoy everyday, because you only live it once.

Adore - Public Garden

Few months ago we started visiting Public Garden, it is a flea market that features stuffs by creative individuals! I love the arty feel of the products sold there, which explains why we kept visiting it month after month, always hoping there will be more unique stuff that we can see or buy!

The first time I went, it was held inside National Museum. There were 20 odd stores, I finished walking the area in less than 20 minutes, it was only when I slow down and took my time, I realised there were a lot of interesting stuffs to look at!

You just wait & see!

I think this good vibe flag is interesting, I thought of buying it for a friend because she has encountered some nasty stuff at work, maybe should hang a flag like this at her desk! lol.

Sketch-a-tote.
Woah! Sketch a minion!? I think I got potential too!! ahahaha!

There are a few tote bags stores I came across in public garden but personally I love this tote bag (see below) that I got from http://www.shopwith-trea.com/ I love the design and the quality of the bag is thick and good! I am using it for my work.

Believe in your own Magic!
I like such positivity because it will always remind me to be positive! hehe.

Strangely Yours

I saw this stall during my last visit to public garden and I fell in love with every single item sold. The polaroid camera and vespa necklaces were so beautifully crafted. I really love it! There are even some items related to Harry Potter! OMG.

I got for myself a bracelet, think it costs about $20+

Besides all the interesting stuff, I think Public Garden is also a good platform for aspiring bakers to showcase their skills and creativity. When we first visited Public Garden, we came across Smitten Micro Bakery, Plain Vanilla, now there are so many more stores selling cakes, bread, pastries! What I love is how they displayed their items, making the food almost irresistible!

Little House of Dreams is a new stall this time round, well at least it is my first time seeing them participating. I know they have a shop in Clarke Quay, The Central.

Cute cupcakes with Oriole Coffee.

Yesterday I finally bought this brooch for $20 from Little Drom Store, this stall is a regular seller in Public Garden. I have been to its shop located at Ann Siang Hill. Its $5 cheaper to buy it from Public Garden!

Yesterday I saw there were filming happening, I guess this flea market will become even more popular with the publicity! Actually I am quite sad, hahaha, I can imagine how crowded it will become. =(

Anyway, this weekend flea market is held once every month end.

Purposeful Traveller - Some good stuff I like.

Travel Companion

I had an opportunity to speak to someone who travelled alone in New Zealand and I was so excited about what she has shared. I was seriously considering if I should do it too and this is one thought that came to my mind when I was researching.

Purposeful Traveller - I guess I should really try at least once to go on a solo travel trip.

Atas Afternoon Tea at E&O Hotel

Each time we go to Penang, we will try to do something new. This time round we decided to indulge in an expensive afternoon tea (in ringgit) at E&O hotel. =)

We tried our best to wear "nicer" afterall it is an "atas" hotel but the clothes we brought for our trip were "private limited". hahaha. We tried. XD

We walked for quite some time to come to this end of Georgetown. As I walked, I was thinking, it better be worth the walk. >.<

The menu only has one thing - afternoon tea. cheyyy...

2 tiers of savoury items which I don't find them nice. -_-

The saving grace were the scones and sweet items. I love the jam and all the sweet items were good, maybe because the savoury items didn't impress me so the sweet ones stood out. hahaha.

I have been to "atas" high tea Singapore, most of the time it was just for the ambience and the occasional splurge to pamper myself, it was the same for this too. We just chit chatted for awhile then we read the books we brought. Relaxation.

Price for this experience: RM65. haha. If convert to sing dollars, it's definitely worth the experience! Do try it if you are in Penang! =D

We went for a stroll.

We just sat there and watched the waves hitting onto the rock wall. Peaceful and relaxing. I was reluctant to come back Singapore. =(

Purposeful Traveller - My occasional indulgence.

One of my favourite places - Penang

The first time I went Penang, I took a bus. It was a long long long journey there. I was glad that subsequently budget airlines fly Penang and then I became a frequent visitor to Penang, well, at least for recent years.

I have already visited those tourist spots that interest me but I kept going back to Penang because I just love the streets, the food, the cafes that I can explore! Even accomodation I will try to explore different options! haha.

This time round in June, we chose Syok@Chulia, I believed this is a relatively new hostel because I don't remember seeing this hostel when I was there in Penang last year, some more the location of the hostel is so prominent - Chulia Street. Well, maybe I really missed it. Anyway, I read good reviews on the hostel and I decided to stay there this time round! Booked a private twin room for 3 nights and it costs RM171~ The room is small but clean, good enough for me!

The lobby area! But what I love was the lounge - big and cozy!

We realised alot of the cafes we previously went were all around the hostel. We re-visited 42 La Boheme for some tarts.

And the baby has grew up! There is even an addition to the family! The little kitty!

We tried apple tart and Caramelised Walnut tart. Personally I liked the walnut tart, though it was caramelised, it was not too sweet. Each costs about RM7-8.

We had a dim sum breakfast at this coffeeshop and I love the service staff who are all grannies! They are so friendly and chirpy! It just brightens up my morning!

Lian Rong Bao with pee-ka-poo! salted egg yolk!

I love the century egg porridge with the crackers.

Ok, besides all the yummy food in Penang, I love the streets of Georgetown. =) All those arty paintings on the walls just made this whole place so much more beautiful.

Don't disturb the birds! lol.

I think I wanna organise some sort of a Penang tour,  I just wanna introduce this place that I love to everyone I know! hee.

In Penang, all I need is a good book, and an empty stomach, I can spend many days there.

Purposeful Traveller - I will return, that's for sure
