Travel & Food - Behind 50 & Kwong Sang House

Both Behind 50 & Kwong Sang House belong to the same owners. We visited Kwong Sang House first because we wanted to have dinner!

The sign "广生洋服" actually belongs to the shop which was BESIDE it but it was torn down years ago. With old items and this  "广生洋服" idea, the owners decided to use old tailor shop as a theme for their cafe.

We ordered 2 set meals to share and the portions were just nice. Had Prawn Aglio Olio and Pineapple chicken set. Each set comes with salad/soup, drinks, main course and the dessert. For the price we paid, it was worth it!

After we had our meal and loads of chit chatting, the lady who served us told us that there is a 2nd floor to the cafe and she asked us to go up and take a look and feel free to take photos! hahaha. Anyway she was very friendly and we could just talk to her as if we were already friends! =D

It is a mini library and it is very cosy!

Had a good experience there, wouldn't mind going back again for the ambiance and food!

After which, we headed to behind 50 cafe, as it closes at 1am, we decided to go there to have some drinks."Behind 50" is the unit number of the cafe as well because it is literally BEHIND 50, in case you are wondering why there is no unit number. lol.

The place is smaller but I like the open concept. They have those old toys as part of the decorations which I guess most of us can identify with. Hee.

These 2 cafes are within 10mins walking distance from Moontree47. =)

Kwong Sang House is located at 36 Leith Street, opens from Mon - Sun 12pm - 11pm (But closes on THURSDAY!)

Behind 50 cafe is located at Behind 50, Muntri Street, opens from Mon - Sun 6pm - 1am (Closes on THURSDAY too!)

Travel - My Penang Journey starts at Moontree47

Moontree47 is a cafe cum backpacker hostel. We decided to stay here because of its ideal location. Booked a non-airconditioned room for RM80 per night.

It is call Moontree47 because it is located at 47 Muntri Street hence they did a literate translation. The chinese name of this place is 月树. lol.

Anyway, when I saw this place, I loved it. =) Staying here is like staying in those traditional shop houses which I guess most of us would never have a chance to live in. hahaha.

Our humble non air-con room. Gorgeous.

A view of the cafe from the 2nd floor where we stayed.

Our toilet facilities. Love how they just creatively make use of simple things they have. Not to mention the "outdoor" shower facility. hehehe.

Another view from top.

Entrance of the cafe.

The cafe counter.

Italian Iced Chocolate on a hot afternoon.

Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake. When the owner first tell me the name, I asked her: Err.. is that 1, 2 or 3 types of homemade cakes you have??? lol. Didn't know the name is soooo long!

Then we just sat there, ate and played Monopoly deal till dinner time.

The owners of this place were very thoughtful, firstly they gave us a handphone with their contact numbers and a trusted taxi driver's number in case we need to contact them or we lose our way!

They were also easy to talk to and introduced us some good eateries! I will remember that Tze Char stall they introduced - Tek Sen, it is where the locals will dine. We had 4 dishes for RM62.50 and the food were delicious!

Pork Ribs with fermented beans.

What I also love about Moontree47 is that they really operate based on trust system! They will leave at night when the cafe is closed, leaving the key to the main door to all the guests. Hence we are free to go out at anytime. I really felt as if I was at home!

Alright, the only downside of staying here perhaps were the mozzies. Arh, but it didn't really bother me, just put insect repellent will do. =)

If you happen to go Penang, do visit Moontree47 on the afternoon and slack!!

Travel - I am missing Boracay

Took Cebu Pacific Air to Boracay, the journey was very long because of the transit at Manila International Airport. In order to get to Boracay Island, it was a journey of air, land and sea! It took us 13hrs to reach there. >.<

Reached Manila Airport early in the morning and our domestic flight to Boracay was only at 11am or so. Hence it was a long wait. @.@

We almost cannot land at the domestic airport due to the weather but Thank God we managed to land safely! When we reached Boracay Beach Resort, we were exhausted! Napped for 3 hours before heading out for dinner!
Our first dinner was rather "localised" hehe.

Anyway, I really love the resort, it was number 2 in tripadvisor and I think it was really awesome! Their staffs were so friendly and helpful! Oh, and I love their breakfast especially! For the few days we stayed there we took very long to finish our breakfast because we just want to enjoy every bits of it! =))

Set breakfast - English styled Breakfast!

Yes! Boracay is famous for her beach and I love it!

A must-go place: d*mall. You have everything there!

Had Nutella Almonds Crepe. Yummy!

I love the mangoes, sooooo sweet! =D

What is slacking without a drink men!

And Food!!

We did Sunset Paraw Sailing which was part of the package for my stay. It was made fun because of the choppy seas and great company!

Another day of slacking. Oh men, I miss the mangoes.

Oh yes, the 3 of us were up there - Parasailing! I love the feel!

Please try this Backyard BBQ, I am a meat lover and I love every single dish that we ordered!

Food looks great right! =))

Another relaxing day by the beach, drinking again... Oh, and reading... Alright, I think I am the only soul who will read Twilight in Chinese! lol! But those who knows me will know I always do that! hahaha

Good book, nice drinks and beautiful view of the beach. What more can I ask?

Beautiful Sunset

The only regret was that we didn't go to Ariel's Point because of the bad weather. I really want to do cliff jumping! Check out this link and you will know what I mean:http://www.arielspoint.com/

But it's ok, it reminded me of what one friend said: 在去过的地方留点遗憾,这样我们才有借口再去!

Food - Letoile Cafe

A 2 storey cafe. Level 1 is cozy but I chose level 2 because it is very spacious.

Letoile Cafe is located @ 160 Owen Road, a quiet and rather ulu place. Enjoyed my time there with 2 other friends and we chit chatted until they closed at 7pm.

Love the drawings on the walls.

Chocolate Cake! My favorite!

Purposeful Traveller - Check it out!
